   so mathematically versatile…
   They could mean:
   least common multiple….. [10, 15] = 30
   parenthesis….. [(5+4)^2]+1=82
   floor function….. [14.7]=14
   matrix….. [2 7] is a 1×2 matrix with two entries
   a closed interval….. [5, 8 ) represents values from 5 to 8, including 5 but not 8

   and did you know that the word “bracket” comes from the terms “bra” and “ket” which are corresponding vectors in Hilbert space (quantum mechanics)?
   …and did you also know that i should be teaching math, but instead i work at pier 1 which, incidentally, puts me in the lowest tax BRACKET? =[

   as a sports nerd, i like playoff brackets from such sports as college basketball, the nfl playoffs, mlb postseason, the frozen four with college hockey and my personal favorite, the world cup brackets after the group stages. seriously, the best part of every fourth summer is the world cup bracket. ask lee.
