I just realized how much I love brackets. You can make a list of anything and put them into brackets for me and I will just have a gay old time picking out a winner. It’s simply amazing.

what kind of brackets? round or square? or curly, or angle? you need to be specific here.
March 31st, 2008 at 7:03 pmwell i think [these] are brackets while {these} are braces. and of course (these) are parentheses.

April 1st, 2008 at 6:22 pmoh brackets…
so mathematically versatile…
They could mean:
least common multiple….. [10, 15] = 30
parenthesis….. [(5+4)^2]+1=82
floor function….. [14.7]=14
matrix….. [2 7] is a 1×2 matrix with two entries
a closed interval….. [5, 8 ) represents values from 5 to 8, including 5 but not 8
and did you know that the word “bracket” comes from the terms “bra” and “ket” which are corresponding vectors in Hilbert space (quantum mechanics)?
April 4th, 2008 at 1:00 am…and did you also know that i should be teaching math, but instead i work at pier 1 which, incidentally, puts me in the lowest tax BRACKET? =[
i had no idea you were such the math brain! kudos to being in the lowest tax bracket!!!!
