Oh right…blogging…So where was I? Oh yea, my Tuesday TV schedule. First off…

Fringe: I’m getting more and more into the layering conspiracy that is the backbone of this show. Like Lost, this show realizes that you can get fans coming back, looking for answers, as long as the mystery is compelling. And this show’s mysteries are getting more and more so. Even better, it has fun characters. It’s like The X-Files but with more people to follow, all with their personalities and motivations showing. I’m definitely on board to see where this show goes, and I hope it gets a chance to really explore some weird places…

Eli Stone: More so than any other show, this one fills a much needed niche. There are plenty of comedies and dramas on TV, but this one has a feel that no other show has: fun. Though silly at times, this show balances dramatic story lines with a randomness, and sweetness that I haven’t seen. The title character gets you on his side, and every other character fills an important role, with none of them dislikable. Plus, sometimes they sing. And musicals are just plain fun! Also, Co-creator/ executive producer Marc Guggenheim writes for Marvel Comics, and there are plenty of easter eggs. (The fictional baseball team “The Marvels” had Johnny flipping a shit.) Check it out, but definitely start with season one. It’ll be a lot more fun to watch how the status quo shifts and the characters change from the beginning.
