This movie is pretty spectacular. It might be my new favorite love story of all time. I love the concepts that are pulled together for this. Darren Aronofsky is proving to be increasingly impressive with each movie of his I see. The way he and the other filmmakers behind The Fountain examine and depict the nature of time, and love, and death and rebirth is so imaginative and innovative, that I don’t think any sci-fi “vision” will match it for quite some time. And this definitely is a sci-fi movie (make no mistake), but you don’t notice it during the film! The movie focuses on some universal emotions so well, you hardly realize the fantastic settings the film is taking you to. This is a must see, people. I actually think I need to own this one.
ooh i need to see it. i have the graphic novel and it was very pretty.
I didn’t know it was a graphic novel. Which came first? I’m pretty sure it was the movie, but it would be awesome if I was wrong.
I think they came out at the same time. I think they had the movie idea first, and while they were making the movie they made the graphic novel.
Yea, okay. I think they did the same thing with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. though I’m pretty sure the graphic novel actually came out first. I guess it doubles as advertising for the film…
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is actually a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald published in 1921. It was published in a magazine, then in one of his short story collections, and a bunch of other forms since. The graphic novel is still pretty cool though.
Well…now I know!
