Let’s cut the chatter, and get to it.
Amazing Spider-Man #587: I thought the Menace reveal was pretty good, but I love the idea for the Spider-Tracer Killer! That one actual surprised me! B+.
Before Dark Avengers debuted, I thought the premise was gonna get stale real quick, but I have to say with issue #2, I’m definitely getting what Bendis wants to do, and I am freakin’ down to watch him do it. Just all these evil personalities together, you know it’s gonna get harsh. A-.
The conclusion to “Last Stand of the Spirits of Vengeance” in Ghost Rider #32 was good, and set up some cool things I can’t wait to see develop. I hope Danny Ketch gets some redemption. B.
Uncanny X-Men #506 introduced a classic character from the 70s Godzilla series Marvel published. God bless you, Matt Fraction for bringing the most obscure characters I love into freakin’ X-Men of all places. A+.
X-Factor #40: How many issues in a row can Peter David have a last page reveal as good as these past two? B+.
The penultimate issue of Young X-Men (#11) doesn’t have me in tears for the ending of the series, but I really hope someone finds a place for some of these great characters. Rockslide, Dust, Anole and crew need a home! B-.
Pretty good week. Lots of series ending, or nearly ending. But nothing I can’t live without. (New Exiles, NYX: No Way Home.) But I’m still getting excited for the X-Titles and the upcoming “War of Kings” crossover. So ready for it!
Happy reunion!!
