Last night I watched the David Mamet film State and Main, and I loved it. Not over the top hilarious, but I was chuckling the whole time. The plot is about a bunch of film makers trying to pull it together to make a film in a small Vermont town. Philip Seymour Hoffman as the lovable screenwriter was the heart of the film, with William H. Macy and Alec Baldwin (as the director and big budget star respectively) were amazing. The stumble along plot of the characters trying to thwart everything going wrong provided a bit of a predictable plot, but I seriously didn’t even care. Loved it.
